I had to change my journal since the last "and only one" stated that I wanted to be a comic book artist.

I'm going back to school and this time it won't be in Art. Drastic change of direction. I guess the drawing time is over. I'm gonna have a long 10 years of no life, so there won't be any place for art I'm afraid...maybe a little doodle from time to time...hmmmm, dunno^^

I'm just sad I wasn't able to enter Void and battle Zsabreuser!!!

. ..!

I don't think I'll be able to cast aside penciling....damn this is gonna be a hard freakin 10 years!! LOL Hopefully I'll be able to mix them a bit ;3

Will that make you happy though? How can there be no room for art?

I wasn't able to draw anything good at all in a while and I pretty much lost the vibe, so I figured I might as well turn to the other love of my life which is animals.

If I can make it through I'll be happy. If I can't then I'll be right back where I am today. It scares the shit outta me, but I don't really see any other exit door. When you lose faith in your own art you gotta turn to somethin else. I thought I could live from it, but giving the situation I'm in now that won't happen.

I'm just glad that there's somethin else in this world that I like equaly to comics and art^^
I hope you don't give it up entirely though :) Do it when it makes you happy to. Trust me I know what it's like to struggle as an artist.

Id say cast aside the fear and take it to the limit. You dont like your art? Do some life drawing to kick it up, i dont give a damn if you had more than a 100 sessions, a few extra sessions always bring back the mood. Learning from references always helps learn new techniques and assimilate them to your own.
You want even more extra faith? Sell prints at Otakuthon, do comissions that will make you do stuff you never tried before.

Being another whom wished for the comic stars, I also had to face the harshness of reality.

I already have A.A. in Art, but I am looking at going back to college and get my RN (nursing). Talk a switch!

But because you`re taking a few steps back that dosen`t mean you stop drawing. Use it as a stress relief. Keep in mind that some of the hot comic book artists of today have/had degrees and day jobs in something else.
Pffff...it does not work for me that way Rom^^

It ain't fear. It's life. Things have changed and that's it. I'll continue to draw from time to time, but it won't be as a professional. It ain't that bad. Besides, I chose to do something else I like so it's fine.

Thanks for trying, mais tu m'auras pas! I won't be part of that crazy drawing religion!!!!!!!!!! LOL
Nan..it's not so much the harshness of reality...it's just life........or capitalism....

It's simple. There're some things in my life that I want and some things I already have and won't let go. So I had to find a solution to get and keep all that. I just didn't see the comic industry as a way to get it.

I'll keep drawing but as a hobby from time to time.
That's cool. My mom teaches psychology at the university. I found an old sketchpad of her drawings and paintings from high school, and she was really good. I asked why she didn't become an artist, and she said psychology was just more fulfilling.

But yeah, always keep a little sketchpad with you. Drawing can be meditative, especially when school is stressing you out.
